Tour halfway point – Welcome to the Music Capital of the World

Greetings, First Circuit family, from Austin, TX.  Tonight s our first of two Austin shows, and second of five Texas shows.  Things have been swimming along swimmingly.  Lots of time spent in the van, lots of talking to you kind people along the way, and music abounds.  A few highlights from the road: Kendall the rambunctious dude in Albuquerque who saw Hendrix a few months before he died, Polly’s Pub in Amarillo hosting our late night billiards, and snow in New Mexico, actual real life snow (and ice).  Musical highlights have been many, but the enthusiasm and attentiveness of the crowd in Amarillo thrilled us.  Thanks 806, and all y’all we’ve seen so far.  Looking forward to 2nd half of tour!

The Night Before

First Circuit leaves on tour tomorrow!  Bright and early, and by Pedal Steel Indie Rock standards, 10:00 AM is bright and early thank you very much.  We have a meeting spot: Company Studios in Glendale.  We rendezvous, then we hit the road and find the very first outlet mall because this band is about shopping!

No, that’s not true.  Destination will be Phoenix, AZ and there’s no time to waste so no stopping at all.  We’re bring a back up van for its extra fuel storage and when we’re running low we’ll dock ‘em side by side and siphon from one to the other, all at 65 MPH.  It’s just our style.

Bodily functions, well, we have plastic bottles for that. The most important thing is getting to Phoenix on time, and that shouldn’t be a problem.  We have Vandolf the Grey on our side.  Folks, the Southern Tour in support of our EP begins tomorrow and the plannery texts have been flying.

Follow us on facebook.com/firstcircuit or instagram (adamkurtzfirstcircuit) to keep tabs on our successes and other successes!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Black Friday and Thanksgiving.  Hope those of you who eat turkey have eaten turkey and a whole lot of it.  We’re Thankful that our December Tour is really starting to shape up.  We hope to see everyone out there somewhere between here (Los Angeles) and Austin!  Flag us down and give us a cup of coffee if you see the van coming through!

You want a t-shirt? You’re in luck!

So the Kickstarter campaign is over – thank goodness, you think it’s fun to post about that day in and day out and night in and night out? It isn’t. But, one of the promises was t-shirts, and by gum, we follow through on our word. We hired a kick ass artist (Brian Bello) to design our T-Shirt and we are pleased as a spiked Fruit Punch with the result. Check out the sneak preview here!

So if you ordered a t-shirt, I hope you’ll like that.  If not, why don’t you start your own band, huh? Why you gotta be like that! Everyone’s a critic!  Why not put some positivity into the world, you hunk of junk!

Election is in 7 days! A liberal’s cheat sheet for California Ballot Initiatives

An important election is happening mere days, mere week from now. We’re not going to bore you all with the Presidential race, come on, anyone undecided at this point isn’t paying attention. That’s why we can’t figure out how polls move in either direction; are people really changing their minds?

However, if you require a cheat sheet for the California Ballot Initiatives, we’re happy to provide. This is what a staunch liberal voter is going with: 30-y, 31-n, 32-n, 33-n, 34-y, 35-n, 36-y, 37-y, 38-n, 39-y, 40-y, A-n, B-n, J-y

The lettered measures are country measures so you may have different ones. But there you have it. If anyone disagrees, I’m more than happy to field an articulately worded opposition!

Go democracy!
